'Crested' refers to the tufts of yellowish, hair-like tentacles that grow from the nose and the either side of the forehead.
Inhabits clear coastal reefs, on vertical rock faces with narrow cracks and sea urchins
Feeds by browsing on copepods, mollusc eggs and hydroids (coral relatives) on the bottom.
Lays eggs. Eggs are demersal (sinks to the bottom) and adhesive.
