Almost black in colour and covered in long flat spines which resembles oars. Has suckerless tube feet and can move very quickly by moving the arms like an octopus. The arms break very easily but regenerate quickly.


It is usually found under rocks and in rock pools at low tide and below.


It is a scavenger.
