A small, thin walled barnacles with a wide base. The door plates form a wide V-shaped beak that protrudes above the side walls.


Found in large numbers in the low tide area throughout NZ. Lives on hard surfaces.


Filters plankton out of the water by kicking it's appendages ("legs") out of the shell plates to net the plankton.


This is a native NZ species which has been introduced to Europe and is considered to be a pest species there.
