Algae
Rhodophyta
Florideophyceae

This seaweed has rather narrow, straight edged blades with tightly rolled tips. It looks rather blunt. Branching is variable and the colour is deep brownish red, which can turn greenish when exposed to sunlight. It grows to about 12 cm in height.
It is found on the rocky shore from the low intertidal to shallow subtidal. It prefers exposed shores.
As a producer it uses the sun for energy.
