This crustacean is small (15mm long) and has short legs and an oval flat body. It is very fast and disappears quickly if exposed to light.
Found in the high intertidal amongst rocks or in crevices to stay moist.
A scavenger and sometimes a cannibal!
This animal cannot be in water for more than 3 hours or it will drown, however, it does have gills so must stay moist. It is nocturnal.
