A stocky, apricot to bright orange anemone with white tentacles. When the tide is out the animal becomes quite droopy, looking as if is was melting.


Low intertidal to subtidal attached to rocks.


A predator on small invertebrates which it kills with its poison stinging cells (nematocysts or cnidae).


These animals can bud creating a clone but it is more common for them to release eggs or sperm into the water to create a planktonic larva.
