Head abruptly tapered to small point. Ridge on the midline of the underside, red or pink in colour.
Intertidal. Soft shore. Sheltered to open beaches. Buried in fine clean sand . Mid-tide level, with surface sign of presence not observed.No tube. Burrows freely. Rarely reported, but may be widespread. Known from Otago, Northland, and Wellington. Has been found on open coast beaches that have some shelter. Is not known from either exposed surf beaches or sheltered harbours.
Subsurface deposit-feeding/herbivore.
