A tiny whelk (up to 12.5mm). Exterior fawn or brown, with a dark brown band at the base of the body whorl.


On sand and mud flats, in lagoons and estuaries, from intertidal down to 100 m. Endemic to Australia; Townsville, Qld, to Fremantle, WA, including Tas. Introduced to the North Island, recently discovered around Waitemata Harbour, Auckland..


A predator on bivalves.
