Clear, muscular bands readily seen, Often has a cream to apricot dark ball like structure at one end (the visceral mass). On close inspection, a narrow opaque structure can be seen in the dorsal (back) area, this is the notocord, a precursor to the spinal cord, making these strange jelly animals our distant cousins. The images are of ones washed up on the beach. In this instance they may just look like blobs of jelly or plastic.
