Stiff five armed star. Very variable colour and pattern. "Cells" on the upper surface ringed with cream or white "pimples". "Cells" can be any colour ranging from cream to brick red. Large plates on the edge of the arms with the ones at the tips being bulbous.

Low intertidal to subtidal on rocks.

A scavenger.
