Small and narrow, with two strong cords and a third one forming a keel on the body whorl. Colour is irregular vertical streaks of reddish brown on a pale background. The operculum (door) is circular and horny.
Silty sand in open and semi-protected areas. Low intertidal to 200m. North Island only.
Feeds on particulate matter, small plankton and bacteria.
